Contact Me
Contact me via email or Whatsapp with the details of your commission. Please let me know size, number of pets/portraits and if there is a specific date you need the artwork by.
Photos
I will create a shared folder for your photos or you are welcome to email them. We select the best photo to use as a main reference – you can tell me your favourite or I can make recommendations.
Booking & Payment
A 50% deposit payment secures your booking. You will be told turnaround time before booking. The balance payment will be due after approval of the final artwork.
Painting
I paint your portrait and send you a picture of the final once it is complete. At this point you will have an opportunity to tell me if anything needs to be altered.
Delivery
Your artwork will be beautifully packaged with great care in strong protective packaging and sent to you via courier after balance payment. You will receive tracking info once it’s on its way.

About the Artist
I am Jen, a South African watercolour artist specialising in pet portraits and animal paintings. I have a long history of living with, working with and loving animals and take great joy in working with fellow animal lovers to create beautiful, cherished pieces of the beautiful animals we are so lucky to share our lives with.
I have been a full-time artist since 2021 and have worked on a variety of personal, commercial and illustration projects. Please feel free to view my shop and other work here.
FAQs
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes I do! Please contact me with the name of the recipient and the size or amount you would like to gift and I’ll send you a customised digital pet portrait voucher once payment has been made.
Please note that if vouchers for specific portrait sizes are redeemed more than six months after the date of purchase if there has been a price increase the difference will be due before delivery of the painting(s). Gift vouchers are non-refundable. The value of the voucher can be applied to another size if wanted.
How long do commissions usually take?
It varies based on how busy I am, but usually up to 3 weeks excluding delivery. You can contact me for an estimated turnaround and I will confirm when your commission will be complete by before booking. Please tell me if there is a specific date you need it by, eg if it’s a gift, so I can see if I can accomodate. Overtime fees may apply (I don’t rush paintings).
How long does delivery take?
It depends on where you are located – next working day in Cape Town, 2 working days in other main centres, and remote areas can vary depending on the courier’s delivery days (usually up to a week).
The courier I use varies based on delivery location. I can also send with Postnet on request.
What happens if my painting is lost or damaged in transit?
I will repaint your artwork with no additional charges, provided the correct address was given and there was someone to accept delivery within a reasonable number of attempts. I have not had a single case of loss or damage in over 200 shipments.
Do you paint human portraits too?
Unfortunately not on a commission basis.
Do you paint all animal species?
Yes! I have painted dogs, cats, reptiles, rabbits, rats, birds and horses and am available for any other furry, scaled or feathered friends.
Do you do other types of commissions?
I also do wildlife and fantasy creature artwork, pet illustrations, and am a published children’s book illustrator. Please feel free to contact me with any enquiries you may have.
